Buy or Sell First?
This is one of the most common questions homeowners ask: Should I buy first or sell first?
The truth is there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It really depends on your personal situation and what’s happening in today’s market.
Many homeowners feel more comfortable selling their current home before buying a new one. It can be less stressful and often puts you in a stronger financial position. When you’re not under pressure to sell, you may get top dollar for your home. Plus, when you’re ready to buy, you’ll have more negotiating power without needing to make your offer contingent on selling your current house.
On the flip side, selling first does come with some risk. In a competitive market, the time between accepting an offer and closing may not be enough to find your next “dream home.” That can leave you feeling rushed or worried about where you’ll live next.
If you currently own a home and are thinking about making a move, let’s talk through your options. Together, we can decide what makes the most sense for you in today’s market.
